Developing a communication platform supporting the Rusty Rydholm fundraising benefit.
This past April 2009, I had the honor of being involved on a committee that organized and developed a local fundraiser to aid an individual who was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s disease. Our position was to develop an interactive, cost effective, marketing environment that would promote, advertise and answer any questions regarding the event.
The solution was a simple event website showcasing event information, reason for the event, photos, donations, contacts, sponsorship listing, and a comment section allowing Rusty’s friends and family an easy way to communicate to him as well as show him their love and support.
The site was built with a content management system that can be turned over to the family after the event to use as a blog and platform to further communicate to friends, family and supporters.
The result of the event exceeded all expectations with a turnout of over 500 people, and tripled our fundraising goal.
