Converge Brand Development

Converge is New Jersey’s first Coworking space.

I recently had the privilege of developing the brand for the first coworking space in New Jersey and the first in the country to enter into a partnership with a University. Founded by Steve Guberman of Fifth Room Creative.

Naming the space “converge” demonstrates cooperative collaboration that exists within a community of creatives, entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, non-profits, students and more. The identity emphasizes stability, transparency and a dimensional perspective that will influence an open, friendly and inspiring environment.

Branding Asphalt Pavement

Comprehensive brand development and campaign strategy

Asphalt Pavement Alliance recently launched a new modern look on asphalt pavement. The comprehensive brand system was developed to integrate a humanistic message and promote the integrity of asphalt pavement.

“Asphalt is one of the indispensable materials of life in America. Want proof? Think about the fact that 94 percent of the paved roads in America are surfaced with asphalt.

Societal trends and economic realities are shaping the landscape in which the asphalt pavement industry operates. Challenges in public funding, an emphasis on sustainable growth and livability, and employment trends, all give us good reasons to use asphalt. Asphalt is perfectly positioned to address future needs for roads, highways, bike paths, parking lots, airfields, and other types of infrastructure.” – Asphalt Pavement Alliance

A Healthier You

Sex and a Healthier You Information Guide

To help women learn more about female sexual health and encourage them to talk about related issues they may have, the National Women’s Health Resource Center (NWHRC) and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), have joined forces to develop a new educational campaign titled, “Sex and a Healthier You.”

The campaign seeks to provide relevant information and advance positive sexual health messages by raising awareness about sexual function as a natural and valued aspect of women’s lives. Additionally, the program aims to increase the level of meaningful and effective communication between women and their health care providers and women and their partners.

The guide was produced and printed in English and Spanish.

The Valentine Plunge for ALS

An event to raise money for local individuals suffering from the disease ALS.

The Valentine Plunge is an exciting fundraising event where participants, called Plungers, collect donations for ALS patients in exchange for plunging into the icy Atlantic Ocean in February. The event supports the staytough.fightHARD and The Joan Dancy and PALS Foundations. Both foundations serve ALS patients and their families in Monmouth and Ocean Counties by providing direct grants for products and services to improve their everyday lives.

Four years ago the Valentine Plunge was organized as a fundraiser to support the goals of these organizations. The event has become extremely successful and continues to grow year after year. The plunge website, ValentinePlunge.com was designed to help support and promote the event so that participants had a one stop shop for recent news and information pertaining to that year. Along with event information, visitors can view photos and videos from past years proving their hardcore participation in this “refreshing” 33 degree water event.

The Power of Questioning

questions

The stupidity of people comes from having an answer for everything. The wisdom of the novel comes from having a question for everything.” – Milan Kundera, Czech Novelist

I recently came across an old article written by Jim Force, from The Banff Centre for Management that discussed the topic of creative questioning. I found it interesting because he touches upon the relationship between creativity and thinking. He says, “Our ability to be creative depends upon our capacity to think, which in turn depends upon our ability to question not only our practices, but also our beliefs and assumptions“. (more…)
